I am So Very Excited

I will admit that I have not been very devoted to my camera in the past couple of months, but things are about to change because I have upgraded to a Canon EOS T2i from my Sony a100. I am so excited, I have played with it a little and can already see the promise in this new camera. It will definitely take some time learning it but after that, the sky will no longer be the limit for me. I will be testing it's skills this weekend at Cameron's show down at the river camp and the fireworks as well, but before then I am going to have to figure it out so that I am not always on auto mode.

Today's Unexpected Inspiration

Today I woke up not expecting to really use my camera, but my stepdaughter/friend asked if I could take her to Morganfield, KY to pick up some tires. Something told me to grab my gear, and when she asked why I was bringing my camera on a tiny little trip, I said........ you never know.
And what do you know, I am so glad that I did take it along with me, because we came upon a Thoroughbred stable and the horses were very playful. I am so happy and do not regret any of today now. Here are a few shots I got from this wonderful experience.

Last Night's Experience

I decided to go out and try some shots with the snow, night time and downtown. I had gotten up around 5 this morning and was out for an hour and a half, things seemed alright and I am not completely dissappointed though things could've been a lot more. The good news is I now have some pretty good high spots for getting shots of the downtown as a landscape, the not so great news is the cloudiness made everything look flat and boring and I know that I could've done a lot better and spent a little more time out but I had promised my husband I would be back in bed by 7 a.m. to cuddle with him. Here are a couple of my shots. Again, I could've done a lot better and tried a lot more to work the creativity, but my fingers and face were going numb and I was worried my camera was too, it was only around 20 degrees last night. I have intentions of trying again before the New Year though, I might give myself another hour of darkness by getting up at 4 a.m. instead of 5 next time.

........being a photographer

This blog will be a bit more difficult, I believe or at least for today since I haven't really done any shooting today. I've loved photography since I could first look through a National Geographic Magazine, which was at a really young age. Now I have my own small business which is moving smoothly while I'm working in an office for my husband's business. My love is mainly with nature and wildlife/animals, but I do not mind at all doing events such as parties and get togethers. Meeting new people always brings a warm feeling for me, and watching how the interact together is also pretty cool. I will try to keep this blog up to date as well as my running blog, but I can not promise anything :)
